Whalehunter is born
Welcome to my Substack, dedicated to an in-depth analysis of mineral exploration projects worldwide. The pursuit of the next Tier 1 mine discovery—those supergiants of the geological realm—is a blend of geoscience, statistical probability, mixed with a bit of luck, and intuition.
This Substack arose from my desire to connect and exchange investment ideas with a global audience. One might say ‘Whalehunter’ is the evolution of career learnings and strategic resource investing in the capital markets. This Substack will aim to identify mineral exploration projects with Tier 1 mine potential and resource investment opportunities that exhibit prospective geology and a qualified management team capable of making an economic discovery.
The name “Whalehunter” came to me while sitting at my desk, staring at a scrimshaw piece my late grandfather—a logger, fisherman and historian of the West Coast of British Columbia—had inscribed into bone. It depicts a scene with a harpooner and a whale, a traditional art form where sailors engraved images onto whale ivory or bone during the 18th and 19th centuries.
